The latest page in my Art Journey journal on UKScrappers is based on the prompt Consumerism. It's a slightly frivolous take on the prompt based around my obsession with lipsticks! I counted 33 but then remembered I had a whole load of handbags in my wardrobe that are bound to have a lipstick or two in so the count is a tad more than that!
The background's inked with Distress Ink then blotted to look like smeared lipstick. The lip stamp is from Stampin' Up-I love it! I've written the colours of some of my lipsticks around the outside of the page.
It's my first double layout in the journal. I usually struggle with things bigger than an ATC but decided to give it a go!
I'm popping this on Handmade Monday. It's celebrating it's one year anniversary so please come and check it out!Join in if you can!
Love the page and the story it tells. When I resurrect a handbag from the back of the wardrobe I enjoy finding some treasures.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about lipsticks - along with shoes they are one of my fetishes. Just love dark browns and reds - sparkly ones preferably. Your page looks lovely and a great idea for a lipstick colour chart. Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteLovely artwork! What's an ATC?
ReplyDeleteFabulous artwork and fits your theme perfectly! I've never really got the hang of lipstick (or shoes, or handbags...!). Much happier with a paintbrush and old clothes!
ReplyDeleteThat looks brilliant... really 1940s retro when lipstick really defined gorgeous women.
ReplyDeleteOoh! this is gorgeous. Love the design.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, unusual page.
ReplyDeleteA great idea, the stamp is great and I love the idea of writing the lipstick colours around the edge.

ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! Love your take on the theme!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so cute and what a great idea! A fun look back at some point. :)
ReplyDeleteI always love looking at Art Journals - they are always so beautiful and you have inspired me to have a go at one! I always end up somehow chewing lipstick off and don't get me started on handbag collections - I certainly treasure mine!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat really made me laugh - I don't wear make-up very often but I have lipsticks everywhere!! (Why?? And where do they all come from??)
ReplyDeleteGreat artwork - love it.

A funny question, makes me smile. There are no colored lipsticks in my stock ;)
